Reinstate High School Sports in New York

The student-athletes of New York were promised a spring season where sports designated by the New York Board of Health as "High Risk" would be played. Football/Volleyball/Cheer were safely and successfully played in approximately 35 states or 70% of the country in the fall and it appears "High Risk" Winter Sports (Basketball/Hockey/Wrestling with Lacrosse in the Spring) in NY will suffer the same fate with little to no guidance or information on what classifies them as high risk or what would make them safe again. Neighboring states like NJ/PA/CT have all been given the opportunity to play and the student-athletes of NY are looking for Sports Equality. Why is it safe to play in NJ/PA/CT and NOT in NY? The NY State Student-athletes need your help. They are suffering from increased stress, anxiety and in some cases depression. They have patiently waited 10-months for an opportunity to play. The NYS Coaches can provide a safe environment and a better alternative than continuing to have our student-athletes playing sports in unsupervised environments.

Help My Friend Get the Counseling They Need

Hello!  My friend Charlie needs help. They suffer from suicidal thoughts, disassociation and other problems, but they're scared to reach out for help because of their parents-they're scared they'll get screamed at.  But the thing is, they're a close friend, almost a sister, and helped me through my mental health bumps.  I want to help them, too. This is where you come in. Just one signature could help this cause.  By signing this petition, you can help save a life- it may seem small, but this person deserves it.  This petition will then be shown to Charlie's parents in order to convince them to get their child help.  They're considering committing suicide soon, and I want to make sure it doesn't happen. They may be just an online friend, but that online friend has been a reason for me to live, and to push through my own depression. I want to help them with theirs.  If, for some reason, you decide to donate money to the cause, please try to donate euros, as Charlie is German. These will go to helping with the fees of counseling, which might be another huge factor in if they get help. Any USD will go to the Trevor Project or the Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Please share this around! Charlie is special to many people I know, and I want to make sure they know they're loved.

This petition is for Diamond Washington on the behalf of getting her son major back ,here’s  a little back story on the situation she was just 18 and pregnant going through problems when she trusted her friend Kayla with what all she had including caring for her child . (Major is 5 years old ) her friends took everything she had and made Diamond look like a guilty human to society in order to gain full custody and legally adopt her son , Diamond was trying hard to fight  to get her son back The adoptive parent is now pregnant demanding Diamond for child support on her son  (major) she can’t even see him which is illegal to do if she has fully adopted major . So we are here to fight and sign this petition to get major reunited back with his mother since the guardian acts if she needs help . Sign this petition please and get us to Atleast 50,000 signatures so we can bring them two back together

SPECTATORS AT NJSIAA BASKETBALL GAMES

We would like to petition the State of New Jersey, Governor Murphy and the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) in an effort to have spectators be able to attend high school basketball events. We would propose that the amount of spectators allowed inside be based on the capacity of the gym that the game is being played in. Allow 50% capacity of any gym and spectators must wear masks and social distance. This would be consistent with requirements currently in place for retail stores, restaurants, gyms, movie theaters, amusement parks and malls. Admittance into gyms would first be given to immediate family members of players and then the general public, if capacity is not reached.

Equal Pay For People With Disabilities

Under Section 14(c) of the Fair Labor Standards Act employers are able to pay the employees with disabilities under the minimum wage of $7.25. This outdated law was passed in 1938 and makes the assumption that people with disabilities are less capable of doing their job than their coworkers.  Supporters of this law make the argument that this is because they do less productive work than their coworkers. In some cases this may be true, however this law allows for anyone, no matter their skill level at the job,  who has a disability to get paid less than the minimum wage. It doesn't matter if a person is deaf and working with their hands or in a wheelchair working at a desk, they could still be paid less than the minimum wage. To conclude, we are asking The House of Representatives and The Department of Labor to repeal Section 14(c) of the Fair Labor Standards Act and allow everyone the right to be paid minimum wage.
