Petition to U.S. House of Representatives, U.S. Senate
$2000/month to every American #moneyforthepeople #covid19
**UPDATE: As the Biden administration takes office, the country is deeply struggling. We’re out of work and out of cash. It took nine months for Congress to send a second stimulus check, and just moments to spend it. Another single check won’t solve our problems – people are just too far behind. Like we’ve been saying from the beginning of this pandemic, people need to know when the next check is coming. And the best thing our government can do right now is send emergency money to the people on a monthly basis. Sign to join our movement to get recurring checks to the people. My name is Stephanie, and I am one of millions of Americans who fear for my financial future because of this coronavirus crisis. With businesses and schools closing across the country to control the spread of this virus, many people have already lost their jobs. Others are being forced to stay home. This is catastrophic for working families like mine. I’m calling on Congress to support families with a $2,000 payment for adults and a $1,000 payment for kids immediately, and continuing regular checks for the duration of the crisis. Otherwise, laid-off workers, furloughed workers, the self-employed, and workers dealing with reduced hours will struggle to pay their rent or put food on the table. My husband and I own a restaurant in Denver and these past two weeks have been a blur. Our restaurant community is wrestling with seeing everything we all have worked so hard for irrevocably changed. Our hearts were breaking as we watched our staff divide the ingredients in our kitchen to bring to their homes: a dismal token for employees who worked tirelessly every day. Our talented and cherished team, some of whom have been with us since we opened our doors 15 years ago, are now without an income. Like our team, my family has lost all of the income from our restaurant, and business owners and the self-employed can't claim unemployment. This is the story of America right now. For our team and other Americans who can claim unemployment, even the maximum payments will not be enough for most people to continue paying their bills – and avoid slipping into poverty. The facts are, even successful small businesses can’t go months with their doors closed. But supplying Americans with monthly support until they can get back on their feet can save our communities from financial ruin. We need immediate checks and recurring payments so that we can keep our heads above water. Congress needs to make sure that we won’t be left financially ruined for doing our part to keep the country healthy.

Calling for Change in Hospital policies to allow ALL patients ONE support person
I am starting this petition, to raise awareness to the inhumane policies that prohibit support persons from accompanying patients in our hospitals. As a registered nurse myself, I know for a fact that family/support systems play a VITAL role in the healing and recovery process. Due to covid 19, people are dying alone. People are hospitalized alone. Patients and families are terrified. I have been burdened by this for months, and am calling on local our local hospitals to change their policies. I understand these are difficult times as we navigate this pandemic, but there has to be a solution. Labor and Delivery patients are allowed one support person(even when they are covid positive). Pediatric patients are allowed one support person(even when covid positive). These support persons are not permitted to leave their rooms for the duration of the stay... if we can allow this, WHY can we not allow the same for ALL... covid and non covid patients. I’m sure each support person would happily comply with all regulations, and there would certainly have to be strict guidelines, but it CAN be done! So why isn’t it? I feel confident, that by allowing a support person, we would see many patients recovery time decrease. It’s time for change!
Petition to Andrew M. Cuomo, College of Mount Saint Vincent, Susan R. Burns, Mayor Bill de Blasio
*HELP!!!* Make in-person learning optional at College of Mount Saint Vincent
I started this petition for myself and on the behalf of my fellow students to urge the College of Mount Saint Vincent to make in-person learning optional. As a commuter student, who’s quarantining with their grandparents and has already lost one of their grandparents and several close friends from COVID-19, I do not feel safe attending in-person instruction. With students and faculty returning from home and new and deadlier strains of coronavirus on the rise there is no way for the College of Mount Saint Vincent to safely reopen without people getting infected. This situation poses a huge health risk for commuter students and faculty alike. I understand that some students may disagree for various reasons and I understand that for others on-campus living is their only option due to personal circumstances. This is why I want the College of Mount Saint Vincent to make in-person attendance optional instead of mandatory. Please sign and share!
Petition to State of Michigan
Allow high school basketball in MI
We’re going to keep this petition simple, because the data is already out there! This is a petition to allow boys and girls high school basketball in the state of Michigan. This will have a positive impact on the mental and physical health for the thousands of high school basketball players in Michigan. There is no data to support continuing to shut it down. Michigan players have been playing safely in Ohio and Indiana for months and months without any reported outbreaks or negative effects. Give these kids a chance and LET THEM PLAY!
Petition to Putnam Department of Health
Request to Putnam DOH to maintain strict quarantine and tracing requirements.
As the pandemic worsens and COVID-19 cases soar, it is more important than ever to adhere to strict guidance for quarantining and contact tracing. As the country bears witness to the deaths of over 420,000 souls, with the average daily death toll over 3000 PER DAY, We thank the Putnam Department of Health for their important work and ask them to please continue protecting our community by upholding these important standards in order to lesson the spread of COVID 19 in Putnam County. Quick action and responsible quarantining protects our community. Now is the time for extreme diligence in these matters.
Petition to United States Department of Health and Human Services, Ron DeSantis
America needs [vaccinated] teachers...
Educators in Florida need access to vaccines. Governor DeSantis chose to prioritize people 65 and older over essential workers saying young essential workers would be fine. This means teachers, school psychologists, school counselors, school social workers, speech/language pathologists, and all other school staff were deemed not important enough to be vaccinated. Yet, students have been in-person since August with classroom gaining more students each month. Currently, classrooms have the same number of students as pre-covid classrooms. 18 kids in one room. No social distancing. NOW Governor DeSantis wants to pressure all students who are not in-person to be in-person, by docking funding for virtual students. THERE'S A PANDEMIC AND THE GOVERNOR DOESN'T CARE. Many people in Florida believe the pandemic isn't real. The governor is making decisions he is not qualified to make. Sure, kids have to wear masks in school, but every Monday they bring with them every exposure from the weekend. Teachers and school staff are stressed about supporting students academically, but with the added layer of covid anxiety, the stress multiplies. EDUCATORS ARE IMPORTANT. WE NEED ACCESS TO VACCINES.
