Re-open the Department of Justice's investigation into the shooting death of Miriam Carey.
On October 3, 2013 Miriam Iris Carey was shot and killed by unidentified officers of assigned to the United States Capitol Police and Secret Service Uniform Division in Washington, DC. Miriam was UNARMED with her 13 month baby in the backseat of her car at the time of the shooting. The preliminary and final investigations performed by the Metropolitan Police Department indicated Miriam violated no laws. [Secret Service ‘Willful’ Violations of Policies Caused Death of Miriam Carey http://buff.ly/1KsOjLM] Since that fateful day, the United States Department of Justice has refused to bring criminal or civil rights charges against the officers despite having clear evidence, they acted in a 'willful' manner. To this day, unlike other similar police shootings where President Barack Obama, the United States Congress and Department of Justice called for and insisted there be FULL public disclosure of the documents and facts have refused provide FULL public disclosure of the documents and facts in Miriam's case. WorldNet Daily ('Smoking-gun documents prove unarmed mom wrongly killed' http://www.wnd.com/2015/06/smoking-gun-documents-prove-unarmed-mom-wrongly-killed/) and the Washington Post (How Miriam Carey's U-turn at a White House Checkpoint Led to her Death http://www.washingtonpost.com/sf/style/2014/11/26/how-miriam-careys-u-turn-at-a-white-house-checkpoint-led-to-her-death/) investigations raises serious questions about the government's official explanation about the shooting. Please join us in petitioning the White House, United States Congress and the United States Department of Justice to re-open the Department of Justice's investigation into the 'avoidable' shooting death of Miriam Iris Carey by United States Capitol Police and Secret Service and for the United States Congress to hold parallel Congressional Hearings about the surrounding circumstances of the shooting. Please join the Carey Family as we seek FULL public disclosure of the documents and the facts surrounding Miriam's 'avoidable' death by signing this petition. Petition to Killeen Police Department
JUSTICE FOR PATRICK WARREN SR.
WE THE PEOPLE ARE TIRED OF BEING KILLED BY THE ONES WHO SHOULD BE SERVING AND PROTECTING US. WE THE PEOPLE DEMAND JUSTICE. " I TOLD YOU, DON'T USE A GUN" "HANDS UP MENTAL HEALTH DOES NOT MEAN DEATH" PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS IS TO RAISE MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS AS WELL Doorbell video shows the moments leading up to when a Black man was shot and killed by a Killeen police officer on Sunday, January 10th.The video shows 52-year-old Patrick Warren Sr. come out of his house and approach the officer while waving his hands.National civil rights attorney Lee Merritt, who's working with the family, said they called police to ask for a mental health professional when they noticed changes in Warren's behavior. Merritt said the family was told a mental health deputy was not available, so a police officer was sent. The video then cuts to another shot that shows Warren get back up and continue toward the officer. Someone from the house can be heard telling Warren to sit down, and asking the officer not to shoot him then three gunshots are fired out of view of the camera.According to Merritt, the officer shot Warren once, then pointed the gun at Warren's wife, telling her to get back. Merritt said the officer then fired his weapon at Warren again. The family of Patrick Warren Sr. demands the immediate firing and arrest of the officer responsible for his death along with the Body camera footage. Bobbie Warren, Warren Sr.'s wife, issued a statement Thursday, which calls for Contreras' arrest."Our family is still finding our bearings following the murder of our beloved Patrick Warren, Sr. We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from the community. Patrick was a loving husband, father and devoted man of God. As we deal with the pain of this sudden loss we are asking the community to join us in honoring his name and demanding justice. Patrick spent his entire life serving others. He worked at a local plant in Belton, TX before it was shut down due to the pandemic. He immediately launched a landscaping business to continue to provide for our family. We expect Officer Reynaldo Contreras to be arrested immediately. There is more than enough probable cause for the Killeen Police Department, Texas Rangers or the Bell County District Attorney Henry Garza to issue a warrant for Contreras' immediate arrest and detainment - as would be expected for any other citizen under the circumstances." Petition to Andy Beshear, Daniel Cameron, Rand Paul, Tom Wine, Donald J. Trump, U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives
Justice for Breonna Taylor
Breonna Taylor was an award-winning EMT and model citizen. She loved her family and community, working at two hospitals as an essential worker during the pandemic. Over six months ago, a division of the Louisville Police Department performed an illegal, unannounced drug raid on her home, executing a discriminatory, botched no-knock warrant. Not a single officer announced themselves before ramming down her door and firing 22 shots, shooting Breonna 6 times, killing her, according to her lawyer, boyfriend, neighbors, and relatives. Also named on the warrant was Jamarcus Glover, who had already been arrested earlier that day. Officer Joshua Jaynes lied to obtain a no-knock warrant on Breonna’s residence, citing that the US Postmaster had claimed that Breonna was receiving illegal packages at her home — the US Postmaster later testified that he had never verified these claims. Police were dressed in plainclothes when they knocked Breonna’s door down in the middle of the night; Kenneth Walker, her boyfriend, fired a single shot, believing that someone had broken in. In response, the officers fired multiple rounds, killing Breonna. No one has been held accountable for the systemic failure that caused Breonna’s death. 1. Charges must be filed immediately. The officers involved, specifically John Mattingly, Brett Hankison, Myles Cosgrove, Joshua Jaynes, and any other law enforcement officer involved in the death and coverup of the death of Breonna Taylor must be fired, charged, and arrested immediately. There have been no charges thus far (it has been over 7 months). Their pensions must be revoked. 2. Her family must be paid in damages for wrongful death and the negligence of the LMPD. 3. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear must speak up on behalf of Breonna, and Governor Beshear or Attorney General Daniel Cameron must appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the Louisville Police Department immediately. An in-house investigation is unacceptable. 4. The "no-knock" warrant that police had used in Breonna's murder completely violates the constitutional rights to reasonable search and seizure. By law, police must be legally obligated to announce themselves before breaking and entering into a home privately owned by American civilians. Legislation to federally ban no-knock warrants must be passed in Congress and signed by the President; what happened to Breonna was a complete violation of her constitutional rights, and threatens the rights of all American citizens. Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky has voiced similar concerns. A special session must be intervened by Congress to discuss the constitutionality of no-knock warrants immediately. 5. WE DEMAND A NEW PROSECUTOR AND A NEW GRAND JURY HEARING. Recent testimonies released by the brave jurors involved in the grand jury hearing have revealed, quite clearly, the conflict of interest involved in allowing Daniel Cameron to serve as the prosecutor on this case. His partisan interests and position within the GOP have clearly influenced his ability to fulfill his responsibilities as an Attorney General and officer of the law. His conduct in the case, and his complete disregard for the injustice and tragedy that occurred to Breonna Taylor, is completely unacceptable. This has carried on for over seven months. For weeks, the city treated Breonna like she was a criminal, calling her a “suspect” before finally admitting that she was an innocent, crimeless victim. She had no drugs. She committed no crime. Yet, she is dead, and the perpetrators are facing no charges. She was not only an exemplary citizen, but an essential one. She was a daughter, a friend, an American hero, and most importantly, a person. She deserved to be treated as such. In what world is it fair, just, or legal, to kill a crimeless victim in their own home, and call it an accident? You cannot kill an innocent woman and chalk it up to a clerical error. At the very least, we must hold the system that killed Breonna Taylor accountable. Let’s get justice for Breonna. Say her name. PLEASE help me get the word out, and share this campaign on your social media platforms. Thank you to everyone who is helping in our fight to get justice for Breonna.

Drop The Charges, Stop The Attack On Our Community!
Dedan Waciuri was raised in the struggle by his mother, Greenville organizer, Willie Carol Roberts. Her involvement in the Black Workers for Justice and the Coalition Against Racism has inspired and motivated Dedan throughout his nine years of community organizing. He has cultivated a valuable network of organizers including BWFJ, CAR, and the Black Alliance for Peace. These organizations fight for affordable housing, a civilian police review board, and an end to police brutality. This has culminated in the founding of Mapinduzi this summer. On May 31, 2020, the people of Greenville gathered to protest the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor and police brutality in America. Dedan attended the event with a megaphone, a list of demands, and the support of the community. At this rally, Dedan spoke to a crowd of 300 people about the overwhelming police presence in majority Black and brown communities here in Greenville. Police responded to Dedan and to the people’s right to free speech with the violent use of tear gas against protestors in an attempt to silence them. Following the rally, Dedan was targeted because of his dedicated organizing efforts for police accountability and Black Liberation and was arrested on bogus, trumped-up charges including “inciting a riot” and “damage to government property”. These charges are being used to silence Black dissent in Eastern North Carolina and make an example of those who speak out against oppressive systems. Greenville police and other state agencies have continuously made targets out of activists who speak up for Black lives. This is the city’s response to a community organizer and a political attack on the people’s democratic right to free speech. This is an attempt to suppress the voices of the people. We ask you to stand in full solidarity with Dedan Waciuri and with all other political prisoners of state repression. DROP THE CHARGES! TOUCH ONE! TOUCH ALL!

Replace Columbus statue with a Memorial to Jupiter Hammon, the first published black poet
In 1971, Clemente Spampinato sculpted a statue of Christopher Columbus; an Italian who sailed across the Atlantic for the Spanish empire. Columbus was sailing for India and instead landed on the Caribbean shores of the Taíno people. In subsequent voyages Columbus explored South and Central America, seeking riches for the Spanish Empire. We know that through disease, conquest, rape and murder the Spanish Empire took hold of the New World. The devastation to the Native people created the need for slave labor resulting in the Atlantic triangular trade. The Columbus statue stands over 25a looking down into the heart of Huntington to honor Italian American residents.Over the years we have been misinformed about Columbus and his legacy. This statue is controversial, it’s message is questionable. The calls for justice in our nation seem to go unheard if our local town government justifies the presence of a modern day immoral figure with arguments of ethnic celebration. We wish to look up to statues and see the humanity of those figures. The Town of Huntington ought to instead celebrate the the life and legacy of Jupiter Hammon, Americas first published African American Poet.Hammon was born and raised in Lloyd Harbor, a lifelong slave for the Lloyd family. He educated himself, and was a staunch abolitionist. Hammon's writing helped instill an awareness of the experience of a slave into the minds of Americans. As a way to express his feelings toward slavery, he created layers of symbols and metaphors in his writings. In 1786, Hammon delivered a speech known as "Address to Negroes of the State of New York." His speech was published and reprinted by many abolitionists of the day.One group who reprinted his work was “The Pennsylvania Abolitionists Society”. This organization fought to end the immoral institution of slavery.Hammon has published 6 poems and 3 essays. His 4 famous published poems are-An Evening Thought: Salvation by Christ, with Penitential Cries -A Poem For Children With Thoughts On Death-An Address To Miss Phillis Wheatley-A Dialogue, Entitled, The Kind Master And The Dutiful ServantHammon is more central to the identity of Huntington than Columbus. His legacy is one we ought to honor and commemorate in our town. He is buried in an unmarked grave somewhere on the Lloyd estate. Let us add to, if not replace, Huntington’s history. How ought we educate our youth when they question the immorality of historical figures? Ought we to ignore it, or do we learn from the past and change? It's time for Huntington to show appreciation to all their residents, especially the Black community. Jupiter Hammon is Black history, American history and Huntington History

LETS STOP THE INJUSTICE OF OUR CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM BASED ON SKIN COLOR #BLM
Peace and thank you for taking the time to read a summary of Nuri Muhammad’s journey through his words. Let me take you into what it is like to be a Cape Verdean man involved in the criminal justice systems injustices. The legal theory“JOINT VENTURE” was what all 6 co defendant’s along with myself had to agree to the same plea bargain or else the deal will NO longer EXIST. That was what I was told would define my fate in this case.2 out of 7 individuals in the case did not take the deal leading to myself being left with NO choice, but to take my case to trial and ultimately receive the sentence of 1st degree, life without parole. Over the 10,222 days 336 months as I speak these words to be typed many other “JOINT VENTURE” cases have been tried Similar to my case only DIFFERENCE is that they are involving individuals that are not from poverty, black or Latino communities. The DIFFERENCE is they have received sentences that do not compare to the life without parole sentence I have received. INJUSTICE is what has occurred in my case and it is important for us now during 2020 to showcase the need for change in our criminal justice system to not sentence individuals DIFFERENTLY due to ones COLOR of SKIN. Please Sign my petition so that my case can come to LIGHT as an example of SYSTEMATIC RACISM! God willing I will be able to be free of this concrete jungle and continue to do the work that needs to be completed to have our youth and young adults aware of what one unfortunate eventcould easily impact their and others lives. I am a believer of God, a father, a son of a single mother, a product of the inner city streets of Boston, a remorseful incarcerated inmate, I am a changed man with the responsibility to inform others that are stuck in the revolving cycle of the criminal life on the importance of being a law abiding citizen. My name is Nuri Muhammad and I would like you to know that I am no longer the confused or emotionally unstable product of the streets. What I have become is a man of faith, a prisoner that reversed his street mentality. A individual who is no longer looking to fit in, but now is the one leading, mentoring and showing others in the prison how to self improve themselves with a changed mindset. The day that got me here in prison, the day that changed so many lives, I did not know why I existed in this life. Through the process of taking responsibility and the impact of remorse that is daily on my heart of my participation on that life changing day for many I am dedicating my life in honor of that life taking to reverse the thinking of those who are lost and only know the stagnite cycle that has been stuck in our communities of color and poverty for generations. During my time incarcerated I have been able to avoid the challenges of the negative social. atmosphere inside this concrete jungle by focusing on educating myself with being a proud member of The Nation of Islam, self improvement programs, books, being a mentor, participating in the project youth, and being involved in the African American coalition Committee My title in the AACC is Sargent at Arms. With this position I am to ensure that all guests such as State Representatives and U.S. Congress officials that are attending our meetings are secured and feel comfortable. I am entrusted with this position and value those who take their time to address the need for change in our criminal justice system. It takes a leap in faith not fear to not only avoid, but to resist the risky temptations that occur daily in the prison environment. I have maintained and demonstrated my character as a man of change eagerly awaiting for the opportunity to reach out to lives outside of these walls. Progress in myself has been made over these 28 years of me being incarcerated and I am no longer asleep of the loss cycle I was once living in. I am awoken and want others to awake, so that lives do not need to be lost, habits do not need to be formed, and families on both sides do not need to endure the tragedies of the unnecessary cycle that consumes our communities of color. I would like to be the face of change and dedicate the work that I plan on doing in the community to the life that was lost on that day resulting of me being incarcerated. The impact of these actions that resulted the families involved pain throughout these years I do not take lightly I know that I could be involved in the conversations to our youth and young adults so that other families would not need to endure this difficult pain. Thank you for your support and Stay Blessed Nuri Muhammad
